The campsite is situated 1,5 km below the centre of the village, 150 mts from a bakery, snack bar, small local grocery store, ski hire shop and a bar/restaurant.

In winter, you are just 450 mts from the vast ski area of Portes du Soleil,starting from the Linga Cable-car, with additional access to cross country ski pistes, winter footpaths, and snow shoe walks. There are beginners slopes right on your doorstep, along with a ski school for young children "Le Village des Marmottons".

Throughout the seasons, both summer and winter regular free shuttle buses, will ferry you around the area, with a bus stop right outside the campsite.

HOW TO GET TO CHATEL ?

By car :

• From France, follow directions for Geneva, exit the motorway at Annemasse, follow signs for Thonon-les-Bains, then Vallée d'Abondance.
• From Switzerland, follow the motorway signs for Monthey - Grand Saint Bernard, exit the motorway at Monthey (Exit signed Portes du Soleil - St. Triphon), then follow signs for Morgins.

By train :

• From France, take the train to Thonon-les-Bains, and then a 40 km bus or taxi to Châtel.
• From Switzerland, take the train to Aigle, and then a 25 km taxi to Châtel. Alternatively, there is a funicular railway to Troistorrents from Aigle, with a bus link to Morgins, from where you will need to get a taxi for the short distance to Châtel.

By Air :

• Geneva - Cointrin Airport is approximately 1 hr 30 minutes from Châtel, connecting by train to Aigle or Thonon-les-bains, then connecting to Châtel as above.There is also a direct bus service to Châtel from Geneva Airport on Saturdays.
